
The system of government in the Dominican Republic is similiar to that of the United States. Like in the U.S, the president (currently Danilo Medina) is elected every four years. Also like the U.S, the Dominican Republic government consists of the three branches: Legislative, Executive, and Judicial. Each branch has its own powers and responsibilities. The government type is a Democratic Republic.
