Currency and Wages

The currency used in the country is the Dominican Peso. According to the Google Finance Converter, 1 U.S dollar is equivalent to about 45 Dominican Pesos.

According to statistics put out by salary explorer, a Dominican law enforcement officer makes an average of 25,000 Dominican Pesos per month. In U.S dollars, this is the equivalent of making about $550 per month. An average Dominican who works in telecommunications, or any other entry level jobs makes about 6,600 DOPs a month. In U.S dollars, this would be about $147 a month.
